In 1936, the pioneer of people skills, Dale Carnegie said a persons name is, to that person, the sweetest and most important sound in any language. That’s because learning, remembering and using people’s names:
- Makes people feel valued and respected
- Creates a more comfortable atmosphere for productive communication
- Is a competitive advantage in business

Hi Joe,
Thank you for your Take Two on remembering names. You mentioned repetition in your video and I wanted to share a tip that works for me. When I am introduced to someone I use their name three times during our initial conversation. The immediate repetition is a great way to remember their name next time you meet.
Warm regards,

Joe,
Great ideas – I especially love the idea of making names a priority. Too often we put someone’s name way down the list of things to do with our brain. I wrote an article about recalling names that has some similar tones at http://blog.rockstar-consulting.com/2008/08/06/remembering-names–10-tools-to-use.aspx
Have a RockStar Day and keep the great Take 2 to Improves coming!
